It’s not surprising that the cottages draw holiday-makers from across the country – and even the world – on a quest for the ultimate fishing experience. Our cottages are set in the heart of the extensive Todber Manor Fisheries complex, providing accommodation for serious fisherfolk who are out to hook the big one on the specimen lakes or bag up on the match lakes.
There are plenty of giants lurking in the 11 lakes (including 4 specimen carp lakes, a runs water and 6 match/pleasure fishing lakes) at Todber Manor. There are large stocks of carp, roach, bream, pike and tench to be had, but this fishery can also boast that it is one of the few places in Dorset you can catch a catfish.
Before you even think of going fishing, though, allow plenty of time for browsing around one of the UK’s largest tackle shops, right here on the site. The fully stocked store has a huge showroom featuring the top brands, including everything from rods and reels to bivvies and bedchairs. The shop also boosts a massive range of terminal tackle and quality baits to cater for all your angling needs.
Cow Shed Cottages gives you easy on-site access to Todber Manor’s 11 lakes for some excellent fishing:
3-acre specimen lake with 10 gravel swims, carp averaging 17-25lbs, with a lake record of 35lb. Pre-booking essential.
8-acre specimen lake with 18 gravel swims, carp up to 42lbs, pike to 25lbs and catfish to 50lbs. Pre-booking essential.
6-acre specimen lake with 15 gravel swims, carp up to 33lbs, bream to 15lbs and catfish to 45lbs. Pre-booking essential.
2-acre specimen lake with 7 gravel swims, carp up to 38lbs and catfish to 84lbs. Pre-booking essential.
4.5-acre lake with 31 wood chip swims, packed with carp up to 31lbs, pike, bream and more. Pre-booking essential.
2.5-acre lake brimming with carp, roach, bream and tench.
1.5-acre lake containing numerous carp and other species.
1-acre lake with a good range of fish including carp.
Half-acre lake for pure pleasure mixed fishing.
Two 1-acre lakes with 27 swims offering a mixed bag.
If you’re planning to fish the specimen lakes during your stay at Cow Shed Cottages, book your fishing online via the Todber Manor Fisheries website. We strongly recommend booking your fishing before your holiday to avoid disappointment.
Cow Shed Cottages guests are able to purchase a week ticket for the coarse lakes (Ash, Homeground, Hill View, Firs & White Post Lakes), at a reduced price, through the tackle shop in person. This is subject to availability and match bookings.
You’ll find our Cow Shed Cottages the perfect retreat after a day of bending your rod around the Todber Manor lakes. We do respectfully ask that fishermen keep their fishing gear in the tackle storage provided outside each cottage, so as to keep things clean and tidy inside.
Spend the evening at a local village pub, pick up a take-away or cook your own meal from fresh farm shop produce in the fully equipped cottage kitchen, then re-hash those fishing tales over a nightcap on your personal patio or in the comfy living room.
In tandem with Todber Manor Fisheries, Cow Shed Cottages gives you the best of both worlds – fantastic fishing alongside home from home accommodation.
